Tilly in Senegal

Tilly Willis comes from a  family of artists and is the granddaughter of the renowned cartoonist HM Bateman. Tilly lives and works mainly in Somerset, England but she also spends time with family in Senegal, West Africa.

A passion for travel has taken her to remote parts of Africa, the Middle East and Russia and provides her with a constant source of inspiration for her dramatic paintings of the people and places she encounters.

An established portrait painter, she also paints landscapes, interiors and still life.

Tilly now enjoys international popularity due to the extensive publication of her work as prints, cards, book illustrations and CD covers.  She is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Tilly is available to work in schools as a visiting artist and also regularly gives talks on her work and travels.
