Tilly
Willis comes from a family of artists and is the granddaughter of the renowned
cartoonist HM
Bateman. Tilly lives and
works mainly in Somerset, England but she also spends time with
family in Senegal, West Africa.
A passion for travel has taken her to remote parts of Africa,
the Middle East and Russia and provides her with a constant source
of inspiration for her dramatic paintings of the people and
places she encounters.
An
established portrait painter, she also paints landscapes, interiors and still life.
Tilly now enjoys international popularity due to the extensive
publication of her work as prints, cards, book illustrations and
CD covers. She is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Tilly is available to work in schools as a visiting artist and
also regularly gives talks on her work and travels.
