TILLY WILLIS ARTIST
FACES AND PLACES

Tilly Willis lives and works in the beautiful village of Bathealton near Wiveliscombe and during SAW 2008 she will be opening her studio to visitors for an exhibition of her recent paintings.

Every year Tilly visits West Africa where she paints and gathers ideas for her vibrant African paintings. Her images have been widely published as prints, cards, calendars, book and CD covers.  Athena and Medici are among her publishers as well as many well known charitable organisations.

Tilly is also an established portrait painter; one notable commission was of actress Dawn French.  Her recent painting of her neighbour Jessica Bunn can be seen during the exhibition before being shown in Bath in October.

The exhibition will represent all aspects of Tilly’s recent work, from impressionistic Somerset landscapes, quirky still lifes, portraiture and evocative paintings of Africa.  A wide range of her paintings, prints, cards and a 2009 calendar will be for sale.  Her father, painter Richard Willis will also be exhibiting at Greenham during SAW as will her sister Lucy Willis at Burrowbridge.

During September and October Tilly’s paintings can also be seen at 10 The Square a recently opened restaurant in Wiveliscombe.
