This quirky still life came to me during lockdown, hence the title. This little painting would be a perfect gift for any handy person or DIY enthusiast or shed frequenter.
Framed in black and gold
I’m always looking for shiny objects for my still life. My daughter’s silver shoes and giant pearls spoke to me and they were great fun to paint.
This is in oil on board 17x21” in a handmade wood black and gold frame.

I love to paint glass and this is my favourite vase made by Murano in Venice Italy. I think it makes a beautiful still life with the white camelia. I have put it in a grey handmade frame which I feel enhances the painting very well. 46x38cms framed
Another eccentric choice of subject but as usual the shapes and reflections spoke to me. A great little painting for the kitchen and a conversation piece!

These little beauties were growing in a field nearby for sheep fodder. I nicked a few for my soups, very sweet and delicious. I love the colours. Framed in black and gold. Oil on board.
I enjoy painting textures and shiny plastics. This was the first attempt at bubble wrap and what a challenge it was! This is something ubiquitous in any artists’s studio so it had to be done.
This would be a great conversation piece and endlessly interesting to look at.

This old coffee grinder I found in a junk shop in Tromso, I love to imagine who used it for so long. The shells and urchins I also collected in Norway washed up on the beach.

Found Feathers
I enjoyed painting this, keeping the Burnt Sienna background visible to enhance the green. All the feathers are from indigenous UK birds found on my daily walks.
The frame is vintage mid century which I think looks just right.
